One Arrested/Motorcycle Seized - Impaired Driving By Drug

A 27 year old Saskatoon man is facing a number of charges following an incident involving a motorcycle evading Police overnight.

At approximately 1:45 a.m., August 22, 2019, a patrol vehicle was travelling in the area of 33rd Street and Avenue W when a motorcycle sped past them at a high rate of speed. The officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the area of Avenue P and 33rd Street however the motorcycle driver turned around and sped away. The Air Support Unit was able to spot the motorcycle from the air and witnessed the operator driving dangerously, driving on the sidewalk and travelling on the wrong side of the road at times. ASU officers then saw the motorcyclist enter a garage in the 2000 block of Main Street. Officers on the ground arrived to take the operator into custody as he attempted to exit the garage. The driver was found to be under the influence of what is believed to be methamphetamine. He was also in possession of bear spray.

Officer have seized the motorcycle and the man is facing charges including dangerous driving, evade police, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, impaired driving and breach of parole.
