One man is in custody today, in connection to a break and enter followed by a successful Canine track.
At approximately 5:40 a.m., August 28, 2019, Patrol members were dispatched to a home in the 700 block of Matheson Drive for a reported break and enter to a garage that was in progress. Upon Police arrival, officers observed the male suspect fleeing over the backyard fence into the alley. A Canine track was conducted and numerous articles of clothing and a backpack that the suspect had discarded along the way, were located. The Police Service Dog (PSD) led officers to a residence in the 3100 block of Milton Street. The suspect was located attempting to hide in a green waste bin, and was apprehended with the assistance of the PSD.
Medavie Health Service attended and transported the male to hospital with a minor injury caused by Canine contact. The homeowner’s items stolen from their garage, were all recovered inside of the suspect’s backpack.
A 19 year old Saskatoon man is charged with Break and Enter.
