27 Year Old Male Injured - Homicide Investigation

Saskatoon Police Major Crimes have now charged two men in connection with Saskatoon’s most recent homicide. 

At approximately 2:18 am today, Saskatoon Police and Medavie Services responded to a 911 call in the 900 block of Northumberland Avenue.  There they found an injured 27 year old male who later died in hospital.  Shortly after 8:00 am this morning, a member of  the SPS Traffic Services spotted a vehicle associated to the suspects in this incident and effected a traffic stop.  Two men were arrested at that time. 

One of the accused, who is 26 years of age, has now been charged with second degree murder.  The other, 33 years of age, has been charged with accessory after the fact to aggravated assault.  Both will go before a justice of the peace to answer to their charges.

Saskatoon Police and Medavie Services were called to the 900 block of Northumberland Avenue this morning at approximately 2:18 am. Reports of a number of people were in the parking lot, an altercation had broke out and a 27 year old male had been injured. He was transported to hospital but succumbed to his injuries. The victim's death is being ruled a homicide.

Investigators with Major Crimes, Forensic Identification, and other supporting investigative units were called out. At shortly after 8:00 am this morning, a member of our Traffic Services spotted a vehicle associated to this incident and effected a traffic stop. As a result, two persons of interest have been arrested and are currently in custody. The investigation continues.

Investigators are aware that there were a number of people present at the time and witnessed this event, with some having video recorded some or all of the incident on personal devices. Police are asking anyone that may have information, including recordings, of this incident, to contact the Saskatoon Police Service at 306-975-8300, and ask to speak to an investigator in Major Crimes.
