Firearm Pointed At Member Of The Public, Charges Laid-200 Block Avenue M North

Approximately 00:30am Saskatoon Police Service were notified by a member of the public that a male had pointed a rifle at him from a residence in the 200 block of Avenue M North. The male pointing the firearm was with other males, all who identified themselves as members of a street gang.

Upon police arrival, several suspects fled the residence, including one in possession of a loaded firearm. Six suspects were initially detained as a result of a firearms investigation. Four were released later with no charges, one was arrested in possession of a illicit drug and breached on his court conditions and the male in possession of the firearm is facing 10 criminal charges including several firearm offences. No one was injured during the incident.

The two charged male suspects will remain in police detention cells until they appear in front of a judge later today.
