A man is facing charges after causing a disturbance at a restaurant earlier this morning.

At approximately 5:30 a.m., October 1, 2019, Patrol officers responded to a restaurant in the 100 block of Confederation Drive after reports that a man had caused damage to the restaurant and assaulted a woman in the parking lot with a metal pipe. Upon Police arrival, the man was taken into custody without further incident. It is believed he was under the influence of an intoxicant.

The 68-year-old female victim was not seriously injured.

The 24-year-old man is facing charges of Assault, Obstruction, Mischief Under $5,000 and Breach of Probation. He will appear in Provincial Court this afternoon.
