Two Arrested - Evade Police/Sawed-Off Shotgun, Rifle Recovered - 1100 Block Avenue J North

A 38 year old Grandora man and a 42 year old man from Saskatoon are facing approximately 20 charges following an evade police incident where officers recovered a loaded, sawed-off shotgun and a .22 rifle from the vehicle.

At approximately 2:15 a.m., October 7, 2019, Patrol officers noticed a suspicious vehicle at Rusholme Road and Avenue P North. They attempted to conduct a traffic stop however the driver of the vehicle refused to stop and fled the scene at a high rate of speed. Officers discontinued their attempts to stop the Honda Civic due to safety concerns, however they located the vehicle abandoned a short distance away. Members of the Canine Unit arrived on scene and conducted a track and located the two suspects hiding in the 1100 block of Avenue J North and the 1100 block of Avenue H North.

Both men are facing charges including of dangerous driving, evade police, driving while prohibited, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace (x2) and numerous firearm offences.
