On October 7, 2019 at 11:17p.m., the Saskatoon Police Service received a call to the 1800blk of 22nd St W of a male that had been hit with a machete.

Patrol officers arrived and located a 34 year old male suffering from injuries he received after being hit with a machete. He was transported to the hospital by Medavie Health Services with non life threatening injuries.

Officers were able to locate the 20 year old male suspect nearby and take him into custody without incident. He will be appearing in court this morning facing charges of assault with a weapon, possession of weapon dangerous, mischief under $5000, breach of probation, and possession of methamphetamine.

The victim and suspect are known to one another.
