Meth/Weapons/Bicycle Bylaw Infractions Lead To Arrests

At approximately 3:40 p.m., October 16, 2019, members of the Guns and Gangs Unit were alerted to a call of a suspicious person who may be in the possession of a weapon in the 200 block of 3rd Avenue South. He was located riding a bicycle near 3rd Avenue South and 21st Street East. Officers learned that he had outstanding warrants for his arrest and subsequently took him into custody without incident. While officers were searching his backpack, they located an improvised firearm, ammunition, a hammer and a knife.

A 27 year old man from Kilmore, SK is facing numerous firearms and weapon related offences, as well as Breach of Probation.

At approximately 7:00 p.m., October 16, 2019, Bike officers observed a man riding his bicycle on the sidewalk in the 100 block of 3rd Avenue South. Police found that the man had nine outstanding warrants for his arrest and subsequently took him into custody without incident. In his possession, officers located a knife and methamphetamine.

A 22 year old man is charged with Breach of Undertaking and Possession of Methamphetamine. He was also issued a bylaw ticket for biking on the sidewalk.

At approximately 7:10 p.m., October 16, 2019, Patrol officers observed a man riding a bicycle on the sidewalk near 21st Street West and Avenue T South. Before Police could attempt to speak to the man, he fled into an alley. Officers located the man lying beside his bike in the 400 block of Avenue R South. A backpack was located nearby with a zip gun and a homemade machete inside.

A 17 year old Saskatoon teen is facing numerous firearms related offences.
