Update: Impaired Driving Charges Laid - Single Vehicle Collision - 8th Street And Boychuk Dr.

A 27 year old man has been charged after a single vehicle collision near the intersection of 8th Street and Boychuk Drive.

On October 21, 2019, at approximately 10:50 p.m., Police attended to the intersection of 8th Street and Boychuk Drive for a report of a single vehicle collision. A pick-up truck had hit a meridian and a power pole causing a temporary power outage in the area of Briarwood and surrounding areas.

Upon arrival police quickly located the 27 year old driver of the vehicle, who was believed to have initially fled the scene. No injuries were reported.

The man has been charged with Impaired Driving and Exceed. 08. He is scheduled to make an initial court appearance on Monday, November 18, 2019.

Saskatoon Police are currently investigating a single vehicle collision which occurred at 8th Street and Boychuk Dr. The vehicle hit a meridian and a power pole causing power lines to fall and knock out power in the area of Briarwood and surrounding areas.

The roadway from 8th Street to Briarwood road is closed to north and south traffic. City Crews have been notified and are working at restoring power and repairing the traffic lights.

One male who initially fled the scene has been taken into custody and charges are pending. The investigation continues, there will be updates to follow when road closures are to be lifted.
