On October 29, 2019, Patrol officers became aware of a man in an apartment who was believed to be in possession of a loaded, sawed-off shotgun. Officers also received information that children may be present in the home and have access to the firearm.

At approximately 7:00 p.m., October 29, 2019, Members of the Guns and Gangs Unit, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Unit, executed a search warrant at the residence in the 10 block of Borden Place. Officer located the loaded, sawed-off shotgun and seized it from the residence. The suspect male was arrested without incident. There were two children and a woman also present in the home, who were taken to a safe location during the search.

A 45 year old Saskatoon man is facing numerous firearms related charges.
