Two youth are facing charges relating to a robbery yesterday afternoon.

At approximately 4:30 p.m., November 14, 2019, Police responded to the 300 block of Ruth Street for a report of a robbery that had just occurred. Upon arrival, Police located the victim who reported that she had just exited her residence when she was approached by two unknown persons. They demanded her property and threatened her with bear spray before fleeing with her purse, car keys and cell phone.

Members of the Guns & Gangs Unit located the suspects in the 1900 block of Lorne Avenue. During attempts to take the suspects into custody, the male fled and during a short foot pursuit, deployed bear spray at one of the arresting officers. He was taken into custody by another responding Patrol officer. The female suspect was arrested and found to be concealing a knife in her waistband.

The 17-year-old male is charged with; Robbery, Assaulting a Peace Officer, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose. (Court Info # 991111591)
