A 29 year old woman and an 18 year old man, both from Saskatoon, are facing several charges following an investigation by members of the Saskatoon Police Service Drug Unit with assistance from the Ministry of Corrections and Policing.
The two were arrested on December 1, 2019 in the 3500 block of Millar Avenue. They were found to be in possession of 28 grams of cannabis, three grams of cannabis shatter and 7 grams of crystal methamphetamine. They were also found to be in possession of a potato gun cannon. Investigators believe the two had been using the device to shoot drugs over the fence of the Saskatoon Provincial Correctional Centre.
During the arrest the suspects attempted to flee the scene in a white Chevrolet van, colliding with three police vehicles before coming to a stop. No one was injured during the incident.
The 29 year old woman is facing charges under the Criminal Code of Canada, the CDSA and the Cannabis Act of: Trafficking Crystal Methamphetamine (X2), Distribute Cannabis to an Institution (x2), Conspiracy to Traffic (x2), Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and Evade Police.
The 18 year old man is facing charges under the CDSA and Cannabis Act of Trafficking Crystal Methamphetamine, and Distribute Cannabis to an Institution.
