Threat Made To School - 2100 Block Mceown Ave.

A 16 year old male arrested earlier today in relation to a threat being made to a school, is facing a criminal charge.  

At approximately 11:00 p.m., December 3, 2019, Police were notified of a potential threat to a school. Patrol officers were able to quickly identify the suspect and take him into custody at approximately 4:00 a.m. Detectives from the Targeted Enforcement Section leading the investigation were able to interview the suspect and do not believe there to be any other persons of interest or a risk to public safety. School Resource Unit officers are working closely with the school staff and students to ensure appropriate supports are in place.

The 16 year old male is charged with Uttering Threats. He will appear in court on January 2, 2020.

Early this morning, Saskatoon Police were notified of a possible threat made to a high school in the 2100 block of Mceown Avenue. Members on Patrol began an investigation immediately. A 16 year old male, believed to have made the threat, was taken into custody. Police continue to investigate today. There is not believed to be a risk to public safety at this time.
