A man is facing charges after members of the Guns & Gangs Unit arrested him in possession of a stolen vehicle last night.
At approximately 10:00 p.m., December 4, 2019, members of the Guns & Gangs Unit were conducting an unrelated conditions check at a motel in the 600 block of Idylwyld Drive when they observed suspicious activity in one of the rooms. A man exited the room and got into a van. Upon seeing officers, the man fled in the van, which was confirmed to be stolen. A short time later, he was located walking in the 200 block of 26th Street West. He was arrested and found to be in possession of methamphetamine.
The stolen van was also located a short distance away. It had been reported stolen from North Battleford, SK.
The man is facing charges of Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000, Possession of Methamphetamine and Breach of Probation.
