Saskatoon Police were called to a house in the 400 block of Av I, S at 11:28 p.m. on December 5, 2019 for a complaint of a domestic assault.

Upon arrival, police arrested a male who then fled on foot from the house. A K9 track was started. The male suspect returned to the house and locked himself inside. Police entered the house and located the male hiding in the basement. A struggle ensued with two officer being assaulted. A Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW) was deployed and a 39 year old male was taken into custody. Two officers sustained minor injuries.

The male faces charges of Domestic Assault, Escape Lawful Custody and 2 x Assault Police Officer. He will be in court today.

The CEW deployment will be reviewed in accordance with policy.
