A 34 year old Saskatoon man is facing a number of charges following an evade police incident overnight.
At approximately 3:00 a.m., December 16, 2019 Patrol officers spotted a dark coloured sedan being driven in an erratic manner. As it reached Diefenbaker Drive and 22nd Street officers attempted a traffic stop, however the driver refused to stop and continued to drive erratically. Members of the Air Support Unit were able to track the vehicle from overhead until it stopped on Lorne Avenue. Two people fled the vehicle on foot. ASU was able to see the driver run to a residence in the 2400 block of McPherson Avenue. The 34 year old man was arrested at that location. Along the way ASU also witnessed the driver throw a bag from the vehicle. Officers were able to locate the bag and found it to contain methamphetamine. A collapsible baton was also located inside the vehicle.
The 34 year old man is facing charges of Dangerous Driving, Evade Police, Driving While Prohibited, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public Peace and Breach of Probation.
