A 46 year old man is facing a number of charges following an incident in which a suspicious vehicle evaded Police overnight.
At approximately 12:30 a.m., December 24, 2019, Police located a suspicious white Pontiac Montana in the 1400 block of Idylwyld Drive. A traffic stop was attempted at 38th Street and 1st Avenue, however the driver refused to stop and began evading Police at slow speeds. A tire deflation device was used in an attempt to stop the minivan but the driver drove through a parking lot at 33rd Street and Idylwyld Drive in an attempt to avoid it and struck a cement pillar. In spite of significant front end damage the suspect vehicle continued to avoid Police until it reached the 100 block of Circle Drive where it was abandoned in a hotel parking lot and a man and a woman attempted to flee on foot. They were quickly apprehended and the man was found to be in possession of methamphetamine.
He is facing charges of evade police, dangerous driving, possession of methamphetamine and breach of court conditions. The woman was released without charges.
