A 33 year old man is facing charges following an assault with a hammer on another man in the 300 block of 3rd Avenue South yesterday.

Police were called to the area at approximately 3:30 p.m., February 26, 2020, where an injured male was located. He reported being approached by a man who is known to him, and who was acting aggressively before striking the victim with a hammer. The victim was treated at the scene by Medavie Health Services.

The male accused is also thought to have been responsible for causing damage to a nearby building during the incident.

He is charged with Assault with a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public Peace, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and Breach of Probation.
