A 46 year old man is facing charges following an assault with a weapon at 20th Street and 2nd Avenue on Friday.

At approximately 12:45 p.m., February 28, 2020 Police were called to an incident involving a weapon at that location. Several people reported walking in the area when they were approached by an unknown male armed with an axe or hatchet. He began swinging the weapon at them and pursuing them. Officers were later able to locate a man matching the suspect's description.

The 46 year old man is now facing charges of Assault With a Weapon, Carry a Weapon Dangerous to the Public Peace and a breach of court order.

The victims were not physically injured during the incident.
