A 20 year old man and a 19 year old woman are facing 30 charges following an investigation by members of the Guns and Gangs Unit. Following an investigation last week Officers believed that the two may be trafficking in drugs and in possession of firearms.
At approximately 8:30 p.m., a high-risk traffic stop was conducted by Tactical Support trained Patrol members. They stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of Betts Avenue and arrested the male and female. A search of a residence in the 300 block of Michener Court followed resulting in Police seizing: a loaded, sawed-off 9 mm carbine rifle with laser sight an scope and a loaded 9mm pistol - both with rounds in the magazine, 100 rounds of 9 mm ammunition, a small amount of pre-packaged cocaine, MDMA, cannabis products, approximately $8000 in cash, approximately $4000 in designer goods, a Dodge Charger SXT, and two cell phones.
The 20 year old man is facing a total of 19 criminal code charges while the 19 year old woman is facing 11 charges under the criminal code.
