A 30-year-old man is facing charges related to a forcible confinement from yesterday afternoon.
At approximately 3:00 p.m., March 4, 2020, Police received information that a man was behind held against his will at a house in the 600 block of 33rd Street West. The Guns & Gangs Unit responded, and with the assistance of the Tactical Support Unit, entered the residence. There were a number of people inside that were detained as part of the investigation, and during that time, the victim escaped through a window where TSU members were able to take him to safety. The 24-year-old man was not injured.
As a result of the investigation, a search warrant was executed at the residence and police seized a conducted energy weapon which had been used on the victim.
The 30-year-old man is charged with Forcible Confinement, Robbery, Assault with a Weapon, Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Carry Concealed Weapon, Unauthorized Possession of Weapon, Possession of Methamphetamine, Breach of Undertaking and Breach of Probation.
Police do not believe this was a random incident.
