Officers with the Major Crime Unit, the Serious Assault Unit and Forensic Identification Section were called upon to investigate a shooting in the 900 block of 8th St E. A 29 year old male was transported from the scene to the hospital with life threatening injuries. A 30 year old male was taken into custody and is now facing charges of Attempted Murder and Use Firearm while Committing an Indictable Offence. He is expected to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court tomorrow morning.

The Saskatoon Police Service are currently on the scene of a shooting. At 4:15 this morning, police were called to the 900 block of 8 St E as a man had been shot.
The injured man has been transported to hospital. The extent of his injury is unknown at this time.
Traffic restrictions are in place for the 900 block of 8 St E while police continue the investigation. Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
