A 19 year old Saskatoon man is facing more than 20 charges following an investigation into drug trafficking by the Saskatoon Police Service Drug Unit.
On March 6, 2020 investigators, with assistance from the Tactical Support Unit, stopped a Nissan Rouge in a parking lot in the 3100 block of Laurier Drive. The 19 year old male driver was found to be in possession of a smart phone (which continually received messages during the arrest) and approximately $150 cash. Inside the Nissan officers located a backpack containing; 2 baggies containing 3.1 grams of cocaine, 13 baggies containing 14.6 grams of MDMA, 1 baggie containing 500 grams of cannabis marihuana, 10 packages of cannabis extract, 3 baggies of psilocybin weighing 19.7 grams, 1 baggie containing 178 Xanax pills and a digital scale. A subsequent search of the apartment on Laurier Drive resulted in officers locating; a 12 gauge shotgun, a .22 calibre rifle, a sawed-off .22 calibre rifle, various sized ammunition, a bag containing 500 grams of cannabis, 3 baggies containing 10 grams of cocaine, an expandable baton, a machete and drug paraphernalia. A second vehicle, a Buick Lesabre was also searched where numerous rounds of ammunition was located.
The 19 year old man is facing charges including; Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking MDMA, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Xanax, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Psilocybin, Unlawfully Possessing Cannabis For the Purpose of Distributing, Unlawfully Possessing Cannabis Extracts For the Purpose of Distributing, Possession of the Proceeds of Crime.
