An 18-year-old man is facing charges after two evade Police incidents in a stolen vehicle on Tuesday afternoon and evening.
At approximately 1:50 p.m., December 31, 2019, a Patrol officer observed a vehicle known to be stolen travelling in the area of Avenue N North and 20th Street West. Upon seeing Police, the vehicle immediately fled and was seen driving erratically.
The vehicle was spotted again by Patrol members shortly after 8:30 p.m at 18th Street West and Avenue X South. A vehicle stop was attempted during which the suspect vehicle rammed the Police vehicle twice in an attempt to escape before getting stuck on a snowbank. Bear spray was also found underneath the driver's seat.
The 18-year-old male driver is charged with;
- Assault Police Officer with a Weapon (x2)
- Possession of a Dangerous Weapon
- Possession of Stolen Property under $5000
- Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
- Evade Police
