A Saskatoon man is facing a number of charges after refusing to stop for Police last night.
At approximately 7:30 p.m., April 6, 2020, Saskatoon Police received a report of a hit and run. The complainant stated that their vehicle was side-swiped by a truck, as they were waiting at a red light at 8th Street East and Preston Avenue. The suspect vehicle stopped briefly following the collision, then fled the scene at a high rate of speed.
Officers located the vehicle driving erratically on Brand Place. A traffic stop was attempted, but the driver refused to stop for Police. The suspect vehicle was later disabled by a tire deflation device on Circle Drive south of Taylor Street. That's where the suspect, the lone occupant of the vehicle, was taken into custody.
A 60 year old Saskatoon man is charged with Dangerous Driving, Evade Police, and two Impaired Driving-related offences. He was also charged for the hit and run.
