One woman is facing a number of charges after refusing to stop for Police yesterday.
At approximately 8:30 a.m., January 21, 2020, Saskatoon Police were dispatched to a collision on Attridge Drive west of Central Avenue. The caller stated that the driver of a Chrysler Concorde had sped past traffic, lost control and came to rest in a ditch. Police learned that the vehicle had been reported stolen. A female and lone occupant of the vehicle fled on foot. Subsequently, members of the Canine Unit conducted a track which led them to a residence in the 600 block of Reid Road. A Cadillac Eldorado, which had been idling in the driveway with the keys in the ignition, had been stolen just prior to police arrival.
A short time later, A Canine member observed the stolen Cadillac stopped at a traffic light at Cumberland Avenue and College Drive. The officer attempted to block off the suspect vehicle with a Police vehicle but the driver engaged, driving into the Police vehicle, forcing it out of the way and continued to flee. The suspect struck a power pole and drove into a back alley where she was blocked by a delivery truck. Officers then conducted a high-risk traffic stop and took the female suspect into custody. She was found in possession of the keys to the first stolen vehicle along with other articles of stolen property.
A 31 year old woman from Lestock, SK is facing numerous charges including Evade Police, Dangerous Driving and Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000.
