Two men are facing charges following an investigation by the Saskatoon Police Service Drug Unit.
Following an investigation by the SPS Drug Unit in which members observed activity consistent with drug trafficking, a traffic stop was conducted on Melville Street near Clarence Avenue shortly before 11:00 p.m., January 22, 2020. A 46-year-old man was taken into custody and 29.2 grams of methamphetamine was seized from inside the vehicle. He was charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine.
As a result of the vehicle stop, a search warrant was executed at a residence in the 100 block of Ruth Street East with the assistance of the Tactical Support Unit. A man and two women were arrested from inside the residence.
In total, nearly $1200 in cash, 37.5 grams of methamphetamine, 18.9 grams of crack cocaine, two firearms, bear spray, three cell phones, scales and packaging commonly associated to the illegal trafficking of drugs was seized.
The 36-year-old man arrested from the residence is charged with; Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine and Cocaine, Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5000, Careless Use of Firearm (x2), Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose (x3), Unauthorized Possession of Firearm (x2), Prohibited Possession of Firearm (x2) and Breach of Probation.
The two women arrested from the residence on Ruth Street were later released without charges.
