A 32-year-old woman is facing charges after she bit a police officer while being arrested yesterday afternoon.

At approximately 12:30 p.m., January 22, 2020, a School Resource Officer was attending a feast at a school in the 200 block of Avenue S South when it was reported to him that a woman was brandishing what appeared to be a razor blade in the hallway. The member responded immediately and gave instructions for her to drop the item. The woman complied, but when the SRO attempted to take her into custody, she bit him.

She was found to have been in possession of a glass cutter.

The officer, who was wearing gloves at the time, did not sustain serious injuries.

The woman is charged with Assaulting a Police Officer. (Court Info # 991118871)
