A 27 year old man is facing charges following an armed robbery at a convenience store overnight.
At approximately 3:30 a.m, January 24, 2020, Police were called to a robbery at the business in the 400 block of Russell Road. A male had used a metal bar to break the glass of the store's locked front door before entering and demanding cash and cigarettes. He then fled the scene on foot. The staff member was not physically injured during the incident. Members of the Air Support Unit witnessed the suspect enter and then leave the store and were able to direct ground units to a backyard in the 100 block of Verbeke Road where the suspect was arrested. Cash and cigarettes were also recovered.
The male is facing a charge of robbery.
