A Saskatoon woman remains in custody today, after refusing to stop for Police early this morning.
At approximately 3:30 a.m., January 29, 2020, Patrol members observed a stolen Chevrolet Equinox at Avenue B North and 33rd Street West. Before a traffic stop could be conducted, the driver of the suspect vehicle appeared to attempt to park but as the vehicle slowed, two passengers exited and fled on foot in opposite directions in the 1100 block of Avenue C North. As Police activated their emergency equipment, the suspect vehicle fled. Officers in another Patrol car parked on Avenue Y North of 33rd Street, successfully forcing the suspect to stop in the blocked alley they had been driving through. The suspect driver, a 22 year old female, exited the vehicle and was taken into custody without further incident.
Inside of the vehicle a machete, a baseball bat and multiple sets of different vehicle keys were located. The two passengers that fled were not located. No suspect descriptions are available. No collision or injuries occurred during the incident.
The 22 year old Saskatoon woman was charged with Flight from a Peace Officer, Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000 and Breach of Probation.
