A 39-year-old man is facing charges after fleeing from police on Saturday morning.

At approximately 9:30 a.m., October 2, 2021, police officers observed a Honda Accord disobey a traffic signal at the intersection of 33rd Street and Avenue G North. When officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle fled and was observed travelling at high rates of speed and ignoring traffic signals. The vehicle was abandoned in the area of 400 block of Coad Crescent, and a canine track located the suspect at an apartment in the 800 block of Hampton Circle. Upon his arrest, the suspect was in possession of a knife.

The 39-year-old man is charged with Dangerous Driving, Evade Police, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, and Carrying Concealed Weapon. (Court Info # 991174954).
