Update - Missing Person Located

The subject of a missing persons investigation has been located deceased.

On October 9, 2021, the RCMP Saskatoon Detachment were notified about a deceased person in the South Saskatchewan River. An autopsy was conducted today and confirmed the deceased's identity to be 46-year-old Shawn Wiebe. Mr. Wiebe was the subject of a SPS missing persons investigation and had last been seen on September 22, 2021. Police do not believe foul play is involved. The investigation will be continued by the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service.

The Saskatoon Police Missing Persons Unit continues to look for 46-year-old Shawn Wiebe. 

Further investigation has found that Shawn was last seen at approximately 8:30 p.m., September 22, 2021, in the area of 16th Street and Avenue P South. Police have since located the Chevrolet Silverado that he was believed to be driving, and investigators now believe that Shawn may be travelling on foot.

Police are also releasing a recent photo from July of this year.
