Warrant Of Arrest - Forcible Confinement/Aggravated Assault

The subject of a wanted person investigation has been located. 

Shortly before 7:00 p.m., March 30, 2022, Police attended to an address in the 3200 block of 33rd Street and observed the suspect exit a residence. He attempted to flee from police but Tactical Support and Canine officers were able to take him into custody. Upon his arrest, the man appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound. The 32-year-old man was transported to hospital for treatment for the non-life threatening injury before being released into police custody. 

The SPS has requested the Province appoint independent investigators to ensure transparency. 

Saskatoon Police are attempting to locate a Saskatoon man wanted on charges of Aggravated Assault and Forcible Confinement following an incident earlier this month.

Rolfe Rueben Herman (DOB 1989-04-28) is described as 6’01” in height, approximately 175 lbs. with brown eyes and black hair styled in a brush cut. He has a full sleeve tattoo on his left arm, a tattoo of skulls on his left forearm. The name “Ryder” is on the left side of his neck and a tattoo of faces on his right calf. A photo is attached for distribution. It is believed Rolfe Herman may be in possession of a firearm.

Herman was determined to be the suspect involved in an incident on March 26, 2022, in which a firearm was pointed at police members, resulting in an officer discharging their firearm.

At approximately 10:30 p.m., March 28, 2022, police attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of 8th Street East and Grosvenor Avenue. It was believed Herman was inside the vehicle. The driver refused to stop for police and evaded police, colliding with post at St. Henry Avenue and Ruth Street East. The driver then fled on foot. Police continued to search the area throughout the night; however, the suspect was not located.

Saskatoon Police are continuing to investigate after a weekend incident where a suspect pointed a firearm at police members, resulting in an officer discharging their service weapon.

Shortly after 4:00 p.m., March 26, 2022, members of the SPS Guns & Gangs Unit observed a man known to have warrants get into a cab in the 3200 block of 33rd Street. When officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the suspect exited from the backseat of the vehicle and pointed a firearm in the direction of police officers. One member discharged their service weapon. The suspect then fled on foot into the mall in the 300 block of Confederation Drive.

Further investigation has not located the suspect and police do not believe there is an immediate threat to public safety.

This incident will be reviewed in accordance to policy.
