Update - Arrest - Fatal Pedestrian Involved Vehicle Collision - 800 Block Avenue W South

The Saskatoon Police Service Major Crime Section has arrested and charged a man, after an investigation into a fatal collision with a pedestrian.

On March 30th, 2022, at around 9:00 p.m., while vehicles were stopped for a train in the 800 block of Avenue W South, an altercation occurred between a 29-year-old man and the driver of another vehicle. The 29-year-old man approached the vehicle, being driven by an 18-year-old man, and was struck by it. The collision resulted in fatal injuries to the 29-year-old man. The two were known to each other before the incident.

The 18 year-old man was arrested on April 13th, 2022. He has been charged with Failure to Stop After a Collision, Resulting in Death.

The Saskatoon Police Service is investigating after a 29-year-old man was fatally struck by a vehicle on Wednesday night.

On March 30th, 2022, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Police received the report of a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian in the 800 block of Avenue W South. Responding officers learned that an altercation between drivers, who were known to each other occurred, and resulted with the 29-year-old man being struck by a vehicle. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced deceased from his injuries.

The SPS Major Crime Section, Forensic Identification Section and Collision Analysts continue to investigate, more details will be provided when they become available
