The Saskatoon Police Service has arrested three people for drug trafficking, after a traffic stop on Thursday.
On April 28th, 2022, at approximately 7:30 p.m., members of the Tactical Support Unit observed a vehicle driving erratically and performed a traffic stop in the 1700 block of 22nd Street West. Officers observed open alcohol in the vehicle and arrested the three men inside. Further investigation assisted by the SPS Guns and Gangs Unit found crystal methamphetamine, items consistent with drug trafficking and cocaine. Officers also found a handgun and a rifle concealed in a backpack, inside the vehicle.
The search recovered the following items:
- 25 grams of packaged crystal methamphetamine
- .33 grams of cocaine
- 1 handgun
- 1 rifle
- Bear spray
- $5,400 cash
- Paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking (cellphone, scales and baggies)
Further investigation also found the vehicle to be stolen.
A 48-year-old man is charged with Possession of Crystal Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Cocaine and Possession of the Proceeds of Crime Over $5,000.
A 34-year-old man is charged with Possession of Crystal Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Stolen Property Over $5,000 and Possession of the Proceeds of Crime Over $5,000.
A 29-year-old man is charged with Possession of Crystal Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of the Proceeds of Crime Over $5,000, and 12 firearm-related charges including Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose x2 and Possession of a Concealed Weapon x2.
