The Saskatoon Police Service has arrested two people in connection with multiple stabbings that occurred on Monday night.
On May 16th, 2022, at around 6:30 p.m., police responded to the 1300 block of 8th Street East for the report of a robbery and stabbing. Officers found a male suffering from injuries. He was taken to hospital in stable condition and multiple suspects had reportedly fled the scene.
Several hours later, at around 9:30 p.m., two more people were stabbed during a robbery in the same area. An SPS Canine Unit officer was nearby and witnessed the altercation but the suspects and the victims fled the scene. The victims, one male and one female, were found by police at hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The SPS Air Support Unit was then notified and assisted the Canine Unit in locating one of the suspects in the 1200 block of 9th Street East. He was arrested without further incident. Continued investigation led officers to a nearby residence, where a second suspect was also arrested without further incident. Both suspects matched descriptions provided at both incidents and police do not believe either of the incidents were random in nature.
