The Saskatoon Police Service Air Support Unit (ASU) assisted in arresting a man in a stolen vehicle, early Saturday morning.
On May 21st, 2022, at around 3:30 a.m., police observed a vehicle matching the description of a stolen vehicle, driving northbound on Idylwyld Drive North near 29th Street West. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver fled at a high rate of speed. The ASU was able to track the vehicle to the 400 block of Avenue M North, where it came to a stop and the driver fled on foot. Officers were directed to the location and a 32-year-old man was arrested in the 400 block of Avenue L North.
A search of the 32-year-old man recovered a small amount of methamphetamine.
The 32-year-old man is charged with Possession of Stolen Property, Dangerous Driving, Evading Police, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Breach of Conditions. He also was arrested on multiple outstanding warrants.
