A 36-year-old man was taken into custody following a conducted energy weapon (CEW) deployment after Police responded to a domestic disturbance last night.
Shortly after 11:00 p.m., January 25, 2022, patrol officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 2200 block of East Hill. Upon arrival, they witnessed a man physically assaulting a woman on the street in front of the residence. The suspect refused to listen to officers commands and a CEW was utilized to take him into custody. Further investigation found the man had also assaulted two other occupants of the residence. He was medically cleared by Medavie Health Services who also tended to the victims, and transported to detention where he will remain until attending court this morning.
The suspect is believed to have been under the influence of an intoxicant at the time.
The 36-year-old is charged with Assault (X3) and for breaching conditions of his probation order.
This incident will be reviewed in accordance with SPS policy.
