Traffic restrictions have been lifted in the area of 22nd Street West and Diefenbaker Drive following a collision that involved a vehicle transporting a hazardous, nuclear material. Police and Fire quickly contained the immediate area while hazmat crews confirmed there to be no leak of the material involved.
Police wish to thank members of the public for their accomodation of the closures during the response to this occurrence.
Members of the Saskatoon Police Service and Saskatoon Fire Department are at the scene of a two-vehicle collision involving a hazardous, nuclear material. The material is contained to the immediate area and there is no risk to members of the public. No injuries have been reported as a result.
Significant traffic restrictions affecting all directions of travel at the intersection of 22nd Street West and Diefenbaker Drive are in effect; members of the public are advised to avoid the area or follow officer direction should they find themselves nearby.
An update will be issued upon removal of the traffic restrictions.
