Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit - Male Arrested

The Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit has charged a Saskatoon man with multiple child pornography offences. The investigation involves the distribution and possession of child pornography using a popular social media platform. On June 2, 2022, investigators with the ICE unit and SPS patrol executed a search warrant at the residence which had been identified as where the offences were occurring. Forensic examination of several electronic devices was conducted and on August 30, 2022, Michael Sutton, 29 years of age, turned himself into police and is charged with:

1 count of Making Available Child Pornography- Section 163.1(3) of the Criminal Code.

2 counts of Possession of Child Pornography- Section 163.1(4) of the Criminal Code.

He appeared this afternoon in Provincial Court on these charges.

The Saskatchewan ICE Unit is comprised of investigators from the RCMP, Regina Police Service, Saskatoon Police Service, and Prince Albert Police Service. Their mandate is to investigate crimes involving the abuse and/or exploitation of children on the Internet.
