The Saskatoon Police Service Guns and Gangs Unit has made an arrest in connection to a weapons call on Wednesday.
On August 31st, 2022, at around 1:15 p.m., officers observed a man pointing a firearm at a vehicle in the 200 block of Avenue W South. He retreated back inside a residence, and the SPS Tactical Support Unit and Crisis Negotiation Team responded to the location. At approximately 2:00 p.m., the 22-year-old man exited the residence and was taken into custody, without further incident. A search of the home recovered a sawed off rifle and accessible ammunition.
The 22-year-old man is charged with Pointing a Firearm, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Possession of a Prohibited Firearm, Possession of Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition, and Breach of Conditions. He was also wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant for Breach of Statutory Release.

Saskatoon Police are at the scene of an incident involving a suspect armed with firearm and barricaded inside a residence in the 200 block of Avenue W South.
Motorists are asked to avoid the immediate area.
