Heavy Police Presence - 2200 Block Of Rusholme Road

The Saskatoon Police Service has arrested a 17-year-old male in connection to an incident where he uttered threats.

On September 20, 2022, at approximately  9:45 a.m., the SPS School Resource Unit and Patrol officers were notified of a male who had threatened to bring a firearm to the 2200 block of Rusholme Road. The suspect had left the area when officers arrived. Officers set up a perimeter and the SPS Canine Unit was brought in to help track the suspect. After an extensive search of the area by SPS officers, at around 2:30 p.m., the 17-year-old boy was located and arrested in the 200 block of Avenue J South. 

The 17-year-old male is charged with Uttering Threats to Cause Death, Mischief Over $5000, and Breach of Conditions.

A suspect is in custody this afternoon after police were called to the 2200 Block of Rusholme Road for the report of a weapon.

Restrictions in the area, including those that were put in place by multiple schools have been lifted. 

More details will be released as updates are made available. 

The Saskatoon Police Service is cautioning there is a heavy police presence in the 2200 Block of Rusholme Road.

Traffic restrictions are in place and the general public as asked to avoid the area. Officers are investigating after a threat was made regarding a firearm.
