Police have arrested an 18 year old male wanted in connection with a homicide that took place on December 1, 2022. Zennen Thomas was located on the weekend, following an Air Support Unit and Patrol response to a disturbance in the 200 block of Avenue I North. He is charged with second degree murder and is expected to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court this afternoon.

A second person, a 24 year old woman who was wanted for questioning in connection with the homicide, was also located on the weekend. She was interviewed and released without charges. She is no longer considered a person of interest.
The third person wanted by Police, a 31 year old man, is also no longer considered a person of interest.

Investigators with the Saskatoon Police Service Major Crime Section have charged a previous person of interest, 18-year-old Zennen Thomas, with second degree murder. Zennen Thomas is wanted on warrant and has not been located by police; members of the public should not approach Thomas and instead call police immediately if he is encountered.
In addition to Zennen Thomas - DOB 2004/07/08, police continue to look for two persons of interest who may have information to offer investigators;
Reagan Opoonechaw - DOB 1991/07/05
Kasseigh Opoonechaw - DOB 1998/04/09

Investigators with the Saskatoon Police Service Major Crime Section have identified the third, previously unknown, person of interest as Zennen Thomas.
The investigation is continuing and police are still looking for all three persons of interest who may have information to offer investigators;

Kasseigh Opoonechaw - DOB 1998/04/09
Zennen Thomas - DOB 2004/07/08

The Saskatoon Police Service Major Crime Section is investigating the 10th homicide of 2022.
At approximately 11:30 a.m. on December 1, 2022, police were in the area of 21st Street West and Avenue W South when they were stopped by persons travelling in a minivan to report an injured man inside. The victim, a 21-year-old man, was observed to be suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to hospital by Medavie Heath Services West where he was pronounced deceased. Next of kin notifications have been completed and police will not be releasing the man’s name at this time.
The investigation is continuing and police are currently looking for three persons of interest who may have information to offer investigators;
Reagan Opoonechaw – DOB 1991/07/05
Kasseigh Opoonechaw – DOB 1988/04/09
Unknown male – DOB unknown
