The Saskatoon Police Service has concluded the investigation into the discovery of a deceased male following a structure fire this morning.

On December 22, 2022 at approximately 5:45 a.m., police and fire responded to the 1800 block of Idylwyld Drive North for a report of a multi-unit commercial structure fire. Fire suppression efforts led to the discovery of a deceased adult male in the unit of origin. Members of the Major Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Section responded to the scene. Investigation has determined the death to be non-suspicious; police will not be releasing the identity of the deceased. An SPS arson investigator has concluded that the fire is non-criminal in nature.

The Saskatoon Fire Department and Saskatchewan Coroners Service have taken carriage of the scene.
