The Saskatoon Police Service has charged three people after a firearm was discharged yesterday evening.
On March 21, 2023, at around 5:30 p.m., officers were called to the 2500 block of 18th Street West for the report of a firearm being discharged by a male suspect, in the area. The male was seen leaving the scene in a vehicle, which officers were provided a description of. The vehicle was located shortly after, by patrol officers, in the 500 block of Avenue W South. A traffic stop led to all occupants of the vehicle being taken into custody without further incident. A search of the vehicle recovered a modified rifle and a spent ammunition casing. One of the passengers, a 50-year-old woman was found to be in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine, and had an outstanding warrant.
Two males ages 18 and 17, now face seven firearms related charges each, including; Recklessly Discharging a Firearm, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Careless Use of Firearm and Breach of Conditions.
The 50-year-old woman is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine).
