A less lethal weapon was discharged by police yesterday following a report of a person pointing a firearm at another.

On March 22, 2023 at approximately 5:40 p.m., police responded to the 200 block of Avenue G South for a report of a firearm being pointed at another person. Officers quickly arrived and upon making contact with the occupants of the residence, a struggle ensued at the door. Due to the possible presence of firearms inside, a less lethal round was successfully delivered to the resisting male. He was not seriously injured as a result and refused any medical attention. Several people were then removed from the residence and detained for further investigation. Following a subsequent search, police located and seized an inoperable sawed-off rifle from inside the residence.

Two men were later found to be wanted on outstanding warrants and were arrested without further incident. No additional charges were laid as a result.
