Arrests - Stolen Vehicle / Canine Assist - 20th Street West And Avenue Q South

Two people were arrested earlier today after they were seen travelling in a stolen vehicle.

On March 27, 2023 at around 12:15 p.m., police were called to the area of 20th Street West and Avenue Q South after a citizen spotted a vehicle that they knew to be stolen travelling in the neighbourhood. Responding officers quickly located the vehicle parked in a nearby alley with two people matching the suspect descriptions walking away from it. Upon seeing police, a female suspect surrendered without incident while a male suspect attempted to flee. A police service dog (PSD) was successfully deployed against the fleeing suspect; he received an injury consistent with a dog bite and was transported to hospital for treatment of his non-life-threatening injury.

As a result, a 19-year-old Saskatoon man will be charged with possession of stolen property under $5000, obstructing a police officer, breach of a release order, and breach of probation. The 18-year-old Saskatoon woman is being charged with breach of a release order and was also found to be wanted on warrant.
