Two youth were arrested yesterday evening following theft from a business.

On April 13, 2023 at around 7:30 p.m., police were in the 300 block of Confederation Drive for an unrelated matter when they were approached by a Loss Prevention Officer (LPO) reporting to have just been threatened with a machete after catching two male youth stealing from a business. The LPO was not injured and the suspects fled with the stolen merchandise. Minutes later, both suspects were located nearby at a bus terminal and arrested following a brief verbal confrontation with police; a machete was located and seized during a search of their persons.

As a result, the 15- and 16-year-old males from Saskatoon have been charged with possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace, unauthorized carry of a concealed weapon, and robbery.
