The Saskatoon Police Service has arrested a 57-year-old man after a dangerous driving incident this morning.
On April 18, 2023, at around 1:00 a.m., officers observed a vehicle with a stolen license plate near the intersection of Taylor Street East and Boychuck Drive. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver began to flee at a high rate of speed. Soon after, the vehicle was parked and abandoned in the 600 block of Hastings Crescent. The SPS Canine Unit was then utilized for a canine track of the suspect. A Police Service Dog (PSD) led officers to a residence in the area. Shortly after, the suspect, a 57-year-old man, was arrested without further incident. The vehicle and license plate were both confirmed to be stolen.
The 57-year-old man faces charges of Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000, Possession of Stolen Property, Dangerous Driving, Evade Police, and Breach of Conditions.
