Members of the Saskatoon Police Service Major Crime and Forensic Identification Sections have concluded investigation into a fatal structure fire that occurred on May 17, 2023. The death was determined to be non-suspicious in nature.
The Saskatoon Police Service continues to investigate after a structure fire this afternoon. It has been confirmed that one person was found deceased inside the residence.
On May 17, 2023, police were called to the 1300 block of Idylwyld Drive North for the report of a structure fire. Upon arrival, officers assisted in securing the area and diverting traffic. As fire crews battled to extinguish the fire, the body of a unknown aged male was found inside the residence.
The SPS Forensic Identification Unit is now on scene, and traffic restrictions will continue into rush hour traffic. The investigation is ongoing, motorists and pedestrians are asked to avoid the area if possible.

The Saskatoon Police Service is currently at the scene of a structure fire in the 1300 block of Idylwyld Drive North. Patrol officers have set up a perimeter around the residence and traffic restrictions are currently in place. Police are asking pedestrians and motorists to avoid travel through the area, if possible.
